Abigail Mary Swanson

Born June 29, 2012 at 10:25am

7lbs 5oz and 20 inches tall

Sweet, precious, adorable, cute, and the perfect baby for us.

The birth . . .

It was just like you see in the movies, right?  Except birth never takes just 2 minutes like on TV.  For us, it all began when Liz started to go over to meet a friend from work for dinner.  She didn't get more than 20 steps from the house when she felt a water balloon hit her pants.  The next thing Bryan knew, there was a frantic bang on the front door.  Either a grizzly was chasing his precious wife, or our family was going to be getting bigger really fast.

We got to the hospital and had to be admitted because the bag of waters had broken.  Labor hadn't started much, but they said we had 6 hours to get it started before they would intervene with meds.  We took to the stairs (hence the running shoes on the mom to be above).  We went up and down around 60 flights of stairs.

The stairs worked!

Our new daughter was born after 17 hours of labor.  We had some amazing nurses at the hospital.  Without them it would have been so much harder.  We send our thanks to them!  Liz was an all-star and was able to have an unmedicated birth as she had hoped.  Abigail is so precious!  She is a great baby and keeps a smile on all of our faces!

Our first family picture!  Poor Liz is worn out
Liz is incredible

Abby going home from the hospital with daddy

Our little princess.  She was so alert for the first few hours of life.  This photo was taken a couple hours after birth.

Dad is wiped out after changing little Abigail.  They are so sweet together.  Bryan loves being a dad.

Thanks go to Granny Annie who came to help us out with Abigail after she came home from the hospital!  I think Granny Annie fits well, what do you think?

  2. Wow Liz. You are amazing. No-meds for 17 hours... I'm impressed. And that IS like a scene out of the movies. That's so exciting that your water just broke out of the blue like that. I bet that was crazy. We can't wait to meet her.
